LOCATION OF APARTEMENTS

You will live

here!

Castellammare del Golfo lies on the north-west coast of Sicily. Our completely refurbished holiday apartments are located in a picturesque lane in the old fishing area, just above the port. A flight of steps leads down to the sea so there is no transit traffic. It is approx. 5 minutes on foot to the fishing port.

Castellammare del Golfo originated as the port of the ancient town of Segesta. After the Romans had destroyed the Elimi town, they took over the port and expanded it. The old part of Castellammare has thus been able to retain its charm and the original character of a fishing village until today.

Palermo Airport is about 30km away and can be easily accessed via the motorway Palermo-Trapani within about 20 minutes.

Where is Castellammare located?

Castellammare del Golfo originated as the port of the ancient town of Segesta. Just a few kilometres away you can still admire some well-preserved Greek temples and a theatre. After the Romans had destroyed the Elimi town, they took over the port and expanded it. Later, under Arab rule, Castellammare continued to flourish and became impregnable due to the building of a fortress, which gave the town its present name (Castello-al-mare, i.e. castle or fortress at the sea).

To the east of Castellammare there is a long sandy beach in the direction of Balestrate (see 2nd photo from above). On the other side there is however a rocky coast with picturesque bays towards Scopello/ San Vito (see the two photos here above).

THE PANORAMA

Today the town boasts a romantic old port with a promontory on which the fortress is built. The coast with its marvellous white beaches and bizarre rock formations is extremely beautiful.
